Wonder why Mother hasn't stored these blazers safely for use by our grandkids??
Boy's favourite fingers to suck - sooooooo cute!!! His preferences would be different now, of course!!

Who's that girl???

One of the scans from Maja's slide collection. Mother wanted to know who the girl on the left was!!! Remember Father Ashley - I guess that's him in the pic.

Junior Colgate

Trip down memory lane - This is the 'before' photo of my earlier Colgate post. Key difference - waist size!!!!

Whole lot of sadness going on...

Last night and this morning have left me feeling kind of low. For years, I've been the silent listener, dependable friend.... and I guess the one people turn to when they need cheering up. Well, I've just realised that isn't an ideal situation. Last night and today, I had friends sharing their grief/fears/sadness with me and it's left me pretty depressed although they did cheer up. Me thinks, maybe, I shouldn't always be a friend in need!!!

Speaking of 'friend in need', there's a beautiful line from one of Paulo Coelho's novels that really made me rethink on that saying. To paraphrase what he said (since my wonderful memory prevents me from remembering it exactly) - 'anyone can be a friend in need. People love to appear concerned when you're in trouble. However, a real friend is one who is able to share your joys.'
I'm not sure about whether everyone will come to your aid when you're in need but I do agree that it's difficult to share other's joys. That requires a degree of selflessness because at the back of your mind you do think - why couldn't it be me??

New to blogging

Well here i go - thanks for the inspiration and instructions Moni-x. Going to see how this looks before I use start using my grey cells to think of what to write. Since I don't have kids, don't sew and don't have all the time in the world to surf the web for ideas, I guess my blog will end up about my few loves - K1 and C2, BOOKS books and more books, Food, Movies, Music with a dash of sport and politics thrown in when necessary.
