Mango plucking with the Old Chap has taught me a valuable lesson. Sometimes, youth and strength DO NOT compensate for experience and technique. This is the second time the two of us have been plucking mangoes together and I'm still totally inept at it. That pole in Papa's hand is akin to Sergei Bubka's pole vault pole with a Papa made contraption on the end into which mangoes can be pulled and collected. I can probably hold aloft and balance the pole for a lot longer than Papa can but unfortunately till date my ability to pluck a mango from the upper branches of the tree is non existent. A 77 year old, frail man can still manage to pluck mangoes with a mastery I can't comprehend. Well, that's a humbling lesson for me indeed!!!Btw, can't forget to mention this - the photo was taken on my mobile cam, I love my Sony Ericsson.

Nice photo Marls - good to see Daddy-o looking the same as when we came down in the summer.... its quite sad that parents have to grow old :-(
Hmmm - I've never tried my luck at plucking mangoes - but with my impatience and trying to finish everything quick - I'm sure I would have as much success as you ....
Oh - and I have got a Sony Ericcson phone too - its got way too much stuff on it - tried the camera a total of twice - but didn't end up doing anything with the pics. Now my boss has asked us to get a BlackBerry as she has found it extremely useful and thinks we might too - but I took long enough to figure out this phone - no way am I going to change to figure out something even more complicated....
